This article is long overdue. On January 20, 2024, we had our most recent PARC Hoppers Field Day. This time, we met at Tree Tops Park in Davie. The weather could not have been better, and everybody had a great time.
Mike Sam (KF4ZW), David Pomerantz (KO4DKN), and I had our stations set up. I had Mike’s spare radio set up because I forgot my ICOM 706MKIIG at home. Yes, I forgot my radio, the most critical equipment on a field day at home.
Bill Grummie (W4GRU) and Bill Mercer (KE8TPU) joined us. As you can tell by the pictures, the temperature was in the lower range for Florida, but it was still very enjoyable.
10 Meter was wide open that day until about 10:30 or 11:00.
Mike and I tested his band filters and found that his radio was interfering with mine despite the use of the filters. Later at home, Mike found out that his radio transmitted more spurious emissions than what he thought. There is always something new we figure out.
