Last Saturday, February 17, 2024, we were at the Scoutmaster Camporee at Markham Park in Davie. David Pomerantz (KO4DKN), Howard Alexander (KM4TMW), and I, Charlie Artner (KN4VDW), had a great time.
The event was huge. I believe I heard that about 1,000 Scouts attended it. The Scouts stayed overnight in their tents from Friday to Sunday. During our downtime, David and I hunted a few POTA activaters.
We had a few larger troops show up at our tent and some individual Scouts who asked us what exactly we were doing. The sky was overcast all day, and we even had some rain for a few minutes. But overall, the weather conditions were good. Thanks to the clouds, the temperature was in a very comfortable range.
