The Palmetto Amateur Radio Club is here to serve the community. We are doing so in many ways. One of which is providing repeaters that are online 24/7. This not only takes somebody who has the knowledge to do so but also has the heart for Amateur Radio since their services are volunteer. If parts are needed, that is where the club has to come up with the funds.
The Palmetto Amateur Radio Club is solely funded through the annual membership dues from its members and additional donations. Every active member in the club does so of their own free will and as a volunteer.
If you can find it in your heart to support the Palmetto Amateur Radio Club with a donation of any amount, so we can continue serving our community, we would highly appreciate that. Keeping our repeaters running and on the air can become costly if equipment fails. We need the funds to make necessary repairs promptly and return a defective repeater online. You never know when something goes wrong.
In addition, we are trying to keep our repeaters available even during hurricanes and other natural disasters to provide the necessary infrastructure for emergency communications. We also plan to get our repeaters internet to make remote access possible. That would make maintenance much easier and faster. Besides the convenience of remote maintenance, it would allow us to expand our repeater coverage by installing features like EchoLink and AllStar. But the Internet is a monthly expense that the club must cover.
