September 17, 2023, we had our second Radio Merit Badge with the Boy Scouts of America. Surprisingly, we had 15 boys and girls signed up for the Badge. The group was very engaged and asked a lot of questions. Some came very prepared, which gives me hope for the future of Amateur radio. At the end of the class, I asked the scouts which one was considering getting their HAM license, and more than half of them raised their hands.
I want to thank Mike Sam KF4ZW and Howard Alexander KM4TMW for their help. I would not have been able to do it without them. We also want to thank Cliff Freiwald for facilitating the event and providing everybody with Food and plenty of water.
We planned on doing one more Radio Merit Badge in the first week of December, but unfortunately, that is when BSA is holding their Merit Badge University. So, our next Radio Merit Badge is most likely in January.
