PARC Hoppers @ Quiet Waters Park

As you can see on the pictures below we had a great time at our recent PARC Hoppers Field Day. We actually had such a great time that we are going to Quie Waters Park again on May 18, 2024.

We tested our Fox Hunt equipment and found out that the radios we are using for the Fox are way to powerful, even on the lowest power setting. So we are bringing attenuators this time and test the range of the Fox again. The signal was so strong that no matter where you pointed the directional antenna, the signal was thee same strength.

In order to dial in on the Fox, the signal needs to be week enough that when you turn your directional antenna away from the Fox, the signal becomes weeker or disapears completely.

We also had a few new HAMs at the Field Day. Three of our candidates showed up this time and they had great questions for the more seasoned operators. This lead to great conversations.
